Hello!
Im almost ready to paint a 1/35 KingTiger, and the camo that i choose was the on from the PzAbt. 503 in Mailly le Camp (1944).
Can any one tell me if the camo stripes had a soft or sharp border?
The only photo avaible from this tank cant tell me for sure.
Tnks in advance!

Hi
Since these camojobs were fieldapplied with some kind of airbrush, I would say it has soft edges...the hard edge camo was introduced a bit later and was factory applied ;-)
hope this helped a bit
cheers

There is a series of widely published propaganda photos showing the 503rd's third company painting their newly delivered tanks with a spray gun, so presumably, 332 got the same treatment. Reportedly, the wavy stripes didn't get a good review from the company commander, and some vehicles had to be repainted. Third company's short career is recounted in Wolfgang Schneider's "Tigers in Combat, Volume 1." After losing all but two of their tanks during the German collapse in France, they had to be completely re-equipped at Paderborn in September, just before the battalion was sent to Hungary.
