Hi guys -- quick question. Does this kit have Zimmerit molded onto the hull/turret? The box art depicts this so I would assume yes, but want to be sure. If not, it's misleading. Thanks!

The kit does not have molded Zimmerit, a late tiger 1 should but this one does not .

Only DML do Tigers with moulded-on Zimmerit. The Tamiya kits are still nice builds though and go together well, if you don't mind adding aftermarket Zimm - which you'll need to do if you want to be "accurate".

Craig,
I am currently building this kit over at the Tiger Campaign. I am making my own Zimmerit with Squadron White Putty mixed with nail polish remover
Photobucket

Nice and quick build tracks arent as bad as I thought they would be

And remember not all DML tigers ( any many other DML kits) that the box art shows as having zimm actually come with zimm. Only those DML kits that indicate they have zimm are zimm'd

No, it was issued in 1989 and never did have zimmerit, but it suggests where it should be applied in the instructions and recommends Tamiya's zimmerit rakes and putty.
Otherwise it's pretty good kit for one entering its third decade, Tamiya even corrected the turret.
