I have got a revell p40b I want to do a crashlanding dio scene. I need help on the crashed plane. Thought I would try this with a $8.00 model so if I mess it up no great loss.

Well, I haven't ever done a crash landed plane before, but my guess is that you would first need to figure out what happened to the plane, then figure out where, then mold your ground to such. As for your plane, you'll probably have bent props, maybe broken or bent landing gear, etc. Also think if it's been crashed recently, there may be smoke (It's looks good if done correctly), but if it hasn't been crashed recently, it will probably be extremely weathered. (Somebody correct if I'm wrong. I'm no expert.) I don't know if this will help you or not, but I figured I'd try and help somebody around here.

MEBM is bang on IMHO. You need to picture in your mind what happened. What damage was done etc. The pics associated with my article 109 Down my give you some ideas, it's an Me109 of course but maybe some ideas. I seem to be stuck on downed aircraft lately so I have some really ugly pictures in my mind. Really good idea of yours to start with a low cost kit. I usually do the same for my first effort at something like that.

You would probably need a good reference picture as well! It wouldnt have to be the P40B, but something similar. Good idea to ask on the avaition forum here or on aviation sites for help.

Pfc, PM me ur e-mail and I'll send you a photo of a crashlanded P-40F from North Africa. Since the P-40 gear folded back flush with the wing, it tended to stay attached in belly landings, unless the hydraulics had been shot away prior to the landing.

Hey, quick question: Where do you plan to have it? North Africa? Burma? The Soviet Union? Thanks for your time.

p40's saw service pretty much every where, why not for a change make a crashed New Zealand Air Force p40? can't be many Kiwi models out there, so why not just for a change?
