Here is my entry into the campaign: Trumpter's KV-1 Heavy Cast Turret
I wanted to build it straight out of the box but there are a few things in terms of finishing I wanted to do to give it a slightly better look.
From my understanding, KV's has an unusually smooth cast texture, on the turrets so without going too crazy, I replicated it by stippling Mr Surfacer 500 on every cast portion of the turret. Also, during construction there was a fit issue where the turret top and bottom met, so I had to reshape it after sanding and I added the missing weld line by adding some styrene rod and sanding it down and then adding texture to it by softening it with liquid cement and taking a broken 11 blade and creating the weld texture. Then after it dried, I sanded it down and reapplied more Mr Surfacer 500.
Next, I have to resolve some fit issues with the engine deck as seen here:
Something told me I shouldn't have cemented it until I got it correct buy Im sure I can figure it out with some putty and some sanding sticks
So that may come tonight or tomorrow morning. Other than that, hope you enjoyed my progress.
Sean
On a side note, what battle was this machine used in? I can't seem to figure that out or I may be mistaking it for something else.

Looks good so far. The turret texture looks well done.

Like the turret texture. Don't forget to fill in the central socket on the turret hatch.

Sean: Thanks for sharing the fit issues, I'm surprised they were that prominent. Texture and weld bead are looking good overall. Make sure to check out Neil's sight, it's very helpful and he knows his stuff
Neil: I bet 4bo is getting a lot of hits lately Hope you'll take a moment to drop by my build log once I get started with my campaign entry, in say a month or so from now...?

Jeremy, thanks for the kind words about 4bogreen and I'll certainly check out your build log. Yes, the site is getting a lot of hits though it was down for about a week over Christmas due to server problems and the fact that I was in Australia and unable to fix them. Thankfully my buddy Georg Eyerman took the time to go to my house on New Years Day and reset the server to bring the site back up.
Cheers,
Neil
