John i was in Kandahar at that time. i worked right next to the Luxenberg DFAC. 4th Kandak..were they with 205 Corps? the US px is huge and you're right about the German one..lol.
I am a Gunny. i didnt know they did exchanges like that. well i did know they did it for officers but completely unaware they did it for the enlisted. I'm a Amphibious Logistics guy by trade; but for us we get to do alot of diverse assignments. i spoke to my OIC about transfering over and he filled me on a ton of good info. He was an Engineer (Col Bruce Murray) so i'm not sure if you'd know him. I did a full year long tour in Afghanistan so i would imagine that Puckapunyal should be a walk in the park..lol. You guys are a strange lot of folks but i loved working with you guys. it was so much easier working with the Aussies then anybody else.
what was that Gunnys name.?.for us its a small Corps o you may be surprised if i did know him or knew of him. This one Aussie capt i know said that depending on my experience in the field i was looking i could be offered an WO2 or 3 or an Lt spot..but who knows. I;d take cuz the pay would be better then the money i get now anyway at any of those ranks..lol.
i do have a few questions....i'll drop you an email here shortly.
cheers,
Tony

Tony,
That first truck is the Force Protection Inc. Cougar Cat 1 MRAP. I spent the last year on one in Afghanistan myself.

FWIW Gunny, the same company also makes the Buffalo which explains some of the similar characteristics, ie: the grill.
