Does any company make a kit with just modern soldiers with little to no equipment. I bought two kit from academy that has ch47d crew and two infantry, but the kits came with a lot of extras.

You could try the Trumpeter US Army in Iraq set (00418). The equipment is all separate and there are even extra torsos given to allow you the option of having or not having them wear the body armor. They are wearing the kneepads though, molded to the legs. Their poses are walking/running forward.
