I need a little help with the proper color combination that the British used in the north African desert campaign on their Valentines. I have a Maquette Valentine ready to paint (2 color camo scheme) and the instructions are no help, was middlestone and dark earth used or another color and what did the dark earth look like? Thanks in advance.

The MiniArt painting guide for their version of this tank basically call for sand and military brown, which is basically looks like light tan and dark brown.

Code 8: Sand
Vallejo 977
Testors 1706
Tamiya XF59
Humbrol 63
Revell 16
Mr. Color 19

Code 9: Military Brown
Vallejo 984
Testors 1701
Tamiya XF10
Humbrol 160
Revell 81
Mr. Color 133

Hope this helps!

Hi Bob,

I'd go with Light Stone No 61 as a base coat and a distupter of either Khaki Green No 3 or Blue Black.

This might help

Alan, thanks for your input now to decide on the colors that I wish to use either the the kit instructions or the photo.
