looking to build a CEV snub nosed M60 a1 with boom type. saw this kit title and kit number #1396 on verlinden web site. did (or is there a plan to release) Academy do one of these, or is it just a re-name and renumber of their kit # 1390 Blade tank. I have found two conversion kits one by ADV/Azmuth and another by Fine cast Models. I think I can get one from Great Models, but am waiting a reply from Darkstar who has one he is willing to part with. Does anyone have a copy of the Military Modeler article on this vehicle they could scan and email me? If so, send to [email protected]

I think it's funny that Squadron still lists kit #1390 as the M728 CEV, and it's been in their catalog for five years (99, 00, 01, 02, 03).
I'd certainly buy a real M728 if they released one. Of course, then I'd have to sacrifice another Esci M60 hull to the great gods of accuracy.

I've had mixed luck with AEF Designs. The latest item I had was a T-72 turret and it was nicely done. Only problem was that I waited so long to get it that I started the kit using the kit turret. I eventually sold it, but it was worth the $11 or so. Sorry to go OT on this.
I haven't heard anything on the AEF Designs CEV quality. If it is a later item, it may be of decent quality.

The newest CEV is better than the one I bought. He now makes a 1-piece crane and other improvements. I built the one he used to sell and it was a challenge. I am not sure if it includes the dozer blade or not any more, but if it doesn't you need the Academy M60A1 with dozer kit as well. I have great photo references if anyone needs them.

2-2dragoon,
I'd love to get those photo references. I've got the AEF kit, and could really use them.
Cheers
Olaf

I too would like the reference pictures. Also, where can I get the AEF conversion? How much does it cost? I have the Academy Blade tank, so I'm ready to rock and roll.

Blaster, I purchased mine directly from AEF from their website. Delivery was slow, but I discovered that the kit was poured after the order was placed. Check the site for the price. The boom was warped and several parts incompletely cast, but at least they were a guide for the replacement parts. Instructions not worth the paper.

I just took a look at the AEF Designs webpage, the M728 is NOT being offered anymore. Maybe he is upgrading themolds? I know that you used to be able to get one from R&J Productions, but I am literally flying out the dorr here, so I cannot check at the moment.
Hey Academy, get it done already!!!

I found my reference pictures. I have emailed 2 of you who want them. If anyone else wants them, let me know.
