Is this Coventanter at Bovington Tank Museum painted in SCC 2?

I asked one of the staff when I visited and he called out one of the researchers who spent some time talking to me. But in the end the conclusion was that he didn't know.
He advised to be very careful using museum examples for colour reference because many were last painted in the 70s and 80s and the procedure then was to hand the job over to enthusiastic cadets with whatever paint was readily available.
He said the only reliable method is to remove fittings like tool boxes and find patches of original unfaded paint.
But back to topic, this is the only 'brown' colour I could find at the Museum so I wonder whether it is an accurate SCC 2.
It certainly lines up well with the Dark Earth which is often suggestd by kit manufacturers though more creamy and caramely.
I have mixed some SCC 2 according to instructions found on web and the result is a very dark, rich chocolate - nothing like the colour in the photo.
So wondering what colour you think the Covenanter is painted
SCC 2
Some other genuine colour
Whatever was to hand when the Cadets turned up to paint it
Cheers,
Nigel

Looking at the photo on the museum website, I would say that the Covenanter has been painted in a spurious colour. The correct colour is darker and best described as 'brown with a touch of dark green added'. SCC2 is a wierd colour that I've never found a perfect match for straight out of a tin..........

Many thanks. Yes the colour I have mixed following instructions here
http://www.mafva.net/PDF/BritishCamouflage3.pdf
Revell 84 + 86 16:5
is much darker - as you say, chocolate brown with a hint of green.
Cheers,
Nigel

2008 version suggests Revell 86 + 84 in ratio 5:6. I'm also impressed by the suggestion of Humbrol 226 - none of my colour charts show such a colour! If a one tin version is required, White Ensign Models colour ARB05 is stated as slightly light, so can be used direct on the model.
