I have a question for anyone who has used the Mig Productions M1114 conversion for the Tamyia humvee. Now that Bronco has come out with the M1114, these conversions will be moot, but I have a set and want to use it up. Anyway, the question is because the instructions leaves a lot to be desired, do you use the seat bases from the kit and put the Mig seats upon it? Without the bases, the seats are way too low in the cab. It looks like if you sand off the built in cushion on the kit's base, and set the conversions seat on that, it should look about right. Just wondered if anyone has done this before, or what they used. Also, I have a can of ModelMasters medium green for the interior, but it looks a bit dark. I want to use the current green interior and have heard that medium green is close. Just that the can's color seems a bit dark.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
the Mig set will still make a nice Humvee. Yes, you have to sand off the cushions. Sorry but I can't remember what exact color I used on the interior.
Good luck,
Sean

Thanks for the info, that's what I thought would have to be done with the seats. Great looking humvee by the way.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
I've built an M1114 based on the Tamiya M1025 and the MIG upgrade kit.
You can see some pictures and a construction history in my web site.
I agree with you, the MIG instructions are poor, but the kit is good enough and, at the time I built my M1114, it was the only choice.
About the seats I have scratch built the bases with plasticard and aluminium foils, referring to diagrams found in this technical manual.
Here is a picture of my model.
Happy modeling.
