can any one help me suss this out i see that people can get their aztek/iwata airbrush
to work at very low pressure 15-10 psi ect now I cant do that with my compressor I can only spray about 20 minimum with both brushes I did have the silent type compressor from them but that also didnt cut the mustard either it dosent have a moisture trap on it either
so I was thinking of fitting one of those and using the pressure gauge on that heres the compressor I use and it's details
The ideal compressor for designers, artists, modellers and most DIY and hobby users. This oil free compressor provides cleaner air which is ideal for use with a whole range of air tools but is particularly suitable for paint and varnish spraying.
7 cfm air displacement
6 litre air receiver
1.5hp, 230v 1ph motor
8 bar (115 psi) max. working pressure controlled by fully automatic pressure switch
Portable, compact design with rubber feet for stability
Lubrication & maintenance free
Dimensions (LWH) 380x200x420mm
so any help would be great cheers mike:-H

Mike
I have an aztek 340 and I always have to spray at 20PSI or it just doesn't work very well. I have tried thinning paint and still doesn't matter. My manuel say paint between 15-30 so I guess I am doing everything ok.

Hi mikeli125:
20 psi is a good pressure for airbrushing. Most of the paints can be airbrushed with that value of psi. If you go down to 10 you must dilute the paint a lot.
I donīt have an Aztek / Iwata airbrush, I use a Paasche SA and I work between 20 - 25 psi. With that press. I donīt need to thin the Model Master paints (most of them).
Itīs a good idea to put a pressure gauge with a moisture trap in the output of the compresor, because with that element you can regulate the press. to the value that you desire.
