My apologies if this has been discussed repeatedly but I am not too familiar with Shermans.
I am planning to purchase an AM metal barrel for a good old 1/35 Tamiya M4A3 Sherman (35122). I did some online search and noticed that there are early and late types. Can you advise me on the difference are? Which one is more accurate for the particular kit?

On very early tanks (1942, possibly into early 1943), the gun barrel was belled at the end, swelling out a bit to strengthen the muzzle. This proved unnecessary, and the guns were later delivered with a straight taper. The later type would be correct for any wet stowage M4A3

Thanks for the reply Gerald! Very helpful. I'll get a late version of the gun.
