I would like to purchase some 1/48 scale figures. My question is who makes the most detailed figures out of the ones listed below:
squad 48
art of war
dartmoor
gasoline
or any you recommend.
thanks

OK, here's my view,

1. Evolution is the best and available at Military Minatures Warehouse in USA among a couple others. http://www.milminwh.com/evolu_1-48_p1.htm
They are computer scaled down versions of 1/35th scale figures, and the entire line is to be released - don't miss these.

2. Rest Models makes a couple of nice mini-dios of Horse-mounted Germans with downed Russian pilot and 3 russians with quad mg - Track48.com

3. Total War Minatures - from spain home website or at Military Minatures warehouse (save on Shipping and they're the same price).

4. Gasoline has the most variety and many are of high quality. Some were produced by the Total War Minatures guy before he started his own company.
Manuel. Track48.com Canada or Quarter-kit.com France

5. Dartmoor have been doing figures for a long time and are on the larger size but I love them all the same. They are white metal but the Tamiya weapons and gear fit them perfectly too.

6. Alpine has made 2 SS tankmen and are among the best 1/35 figures and appear also to be in 1/48. Track48.com

7. Hector and Goros makes a few but I haven't tried them yet (see links in Track48 website).

8. Squad48 and Artof War are the same figures and about the same size as Dartmoor and I personally love using them too, especially the Russians.

There are others but those are the main ones I stick to. HTH

Great name "Glue it" by the way

Thanks for all the info. The evolution figures definitely look great. I want to try and build a 1/48 scale diorama but have no experience with this scale at all. I do have a little experience building 1/35 scale and find it sometimes very challenging. Also 1/48 scale figures and models seem a bit pricey.

The Evolution figures are actually cheaper in 1/48 then 1/35 by about $10 I believe with the same detail. I think any resin figure will cost a bit more then what you find in plastic. 1/48 could do with some nice plastic figures besides what Tamiya produces I agree.

The Track48 discussion group has a few threads about figures too that may help in regards to sizes and producers. Airfix is coming out with some plastic Brits in the near future so it's a start.
