I know, I know, it's been a long time on the bench. I was about 98% complete without a camera for a review pic. Well I fought with the camera this weekend (my weekends are different than most) to get at least one decent pic. I was able to get a few when I decided I did'nt like the way the model was looking so I started to re-re-fix it. (Hate when that happens)
I thought I'd show one pic of it before I redue some things. Many things were removed before shooting this pic.
Let me know what you think.

Been toying with the idea of doing a "winter" scheme. I think that photo may have pushed me over the edge. Have to find something to start tomarrow....after the flat coat, the Lee is done!

I love the mud too...IMHO a tank can never be too muddy....unless it's operating in the desert, in which case it can never be too dusty....

Beautiful work...tell me, just how did you do the mud effects? Did you build everything, and them paint the mud as part of basic finishing or is there olive drab under all that brown? I ask, because I haven't tackled such a job yet. What media did you use for mud clumps? What kind of tracks, LTL, Vinyl, resin length? Inquiring minds, and all that...

Thanks guys and gals!!!
I was very intimidated to show this as is, but figured after some thought and the nudge from Mrs., what the heck. I wish I had made the photo larger though. What held me back was like this: ever finish a model and say "pretty good, okay it's about done". Than you take a picture and see all those little errs from the high quality photo and flash and say "eeeek! , how did I miss that, or I don't like the way that looks. ??? Okay a little picky on my part, but I could not live with it. Hence, the stripped accesories...and the little photo.
The white wash is pastel chaulk, rubbed on sandpaper to get the powder. Mixed with distilled water and applied all over the upper hull and turret. (Rest of that in the upcoming article)
Yes the whole model was painted OD with a black primer/preshade. The mud is made from Red Devil's OneTime Spackling, alcohol, and a few drops of common acrylic brown paint for color.
The tracks are you run of the mill Tamiya "rubber-band" type.
Here's one more before I decided to fix it up a bit.

Nice job Ken! Living where it snows a lot, to much for me, you also did a great job with the snow. I like how you have the snow muddy where vehicles travel, very relistic. Two thumbs up!!
