I have an opportunity to make a good deal about several Zvezda/DML kits including BTR 70s and 80s and I was wondering if Iraq uses (or used ) them ? Can't find any pics...
TIA

According to my '96-'97 volume of Jane's Armour & Artillery they didn't have them, so Desert Storm would be out. Guess they could've bought them since, though...

So, let's see what comes out from Google... String for the search: BTR-70 Iraq

Hi Ricardo and Olaf
I have already made this Google search. According to this site, Saddam's Fedayens were equipped with this APC. But this is the only mention of Iraqi BTR 70s I have found for now I'd prefer to find corroborating informations. Olaf is right, the Jane's listings of Iraqi equipment I have found on several websites do not mention them. May be I should rather buy some Zvezda T 72s for some future wrecks...
Thank to you both !

There's alot of reviewers that have knocked both DML /Dragon and Tamiya T-72s as being "very inaccurate". I have both and they look enough like T-72s for me. Like the Tamiya fit better.

Hi Frenchy!
As I know they didn't have the BTR-70 in Iraqi -- only the BTR-60 and some chinese tracked APCs.

Not the best choice -- Zvezda's T-72 (formerly old Dragon's kit) represent T-72B model with significally thicker turret front armor. In Iraqi they have the earlier T-72M/M1 (export versions of T-72A model). So Tamiya's one (or one from Trumpeter to build as an destroyed vehicle ) will be much better.
Best regards

Guys,
Zvezda T-72 = Italeri T-72 = DML T-72
It's all the same DML kit, reboxed. Italeri has reboxed DML kits in Europe for at least a decade, and Zvezda has just started rereleasing modern DML kits, such as the BTRs and T-series.
Cheers
