Did it ever? Who knows. The question should be "Is it realistic to think this could have happened?" If the Cromwell was operational in June 1944, it could have been on the airfield. No one could ever definitively prove it never happened, even if there was no documentation.
Markings might make it impossible for a particular tank to have been at a given airfield. For example, (hypothetically) you build a tank with markings of the 6th Hussars of the Queen's Own Horse Guard (there may not even be such a unit, I'm tossing words out that sound like a British unit) and that unit received it's Cromwells in January 1945 or was never deployed south of Edinburgh and the 101st was never stationed north of Dover, you could say that it was not possible for that particular tank to be in that place at that time.

as AJ says never say never but, it is very unlikely that a cromwell would be at an airfield just prior to d-day/market garden. however it is highly likely a tetrarch would be seen at an airfield during that period. i dont know of any 1/72 kits of it though

i wouldent think that a cromwell would be at an airfield but you never know since there are limitless reasons why it could have. I would put the tank on a different base that would be more apropriate to the historical side of things. but who knows i reckon if you like it on an airfield enough do it.
