Does anyone know of a less expensive alternate to Woodland Scenics Water? I know this is a great product but I'm doing a dio that requires quit a bit of it and would like to use something a little less brutal on my "wife's" wallet. Thanks

I have found that Envirotex Lite works very well. Can be purchased @ Micheal's.
I have used for many Dioramas. Perfectly
Here is some info, http://www.eti-usa.com/consum/envtex/envlite.htm
Envirotex Lite is a reactive polymer compound. It cures to a thick, glossy coating in about 8 hours at 70°F, and reaches full strength and toughness in about 48 hours. This durable, resilient material requires no polishing to produce a high gloss. One coat is all that is usually required for a deep attractive finish, however, two or more coats maybe applied one over the other by simply wiping the surface with a clean cloth and alcohol prior to recoating.

Also, Vallejo makes an excellent product called "Still Water". It cures crystal clear in 24 hours.
