I'm looking at purchasing an M4A1 and need to know which tracks will mate with it. I'm not opposed to upgrading the suspension to HVSS. Thanks.

Well, depends on what vehicle you want to model. In theory pretty much any track is possible, with or without extended end connectors. What subtype (M4A1/75, M4A1/76, early, mid, late, etc.) and time frame are you thinking of?

Cheers!
Stefan

PS: Academy have aset of 5 different Sherman tracks in vinyl. If you can get a hold of one you'd have some choice.

Planning on doing a mid sherman or the usmc version with wading stacks. However, I was just outbid on the one I wanted to buy. Have to put this off till I can go to my LHS.

Just remember that the T-48 Chevon track didnt appear until April-May of 1944. USMC M4A1s wore either the T-49, T-51s with grousers.

IIRC the only M4A1s used in combat by the Marines were tanks loaned to them by the Army, I think at the Invasion of Cape Gloucester. You can see a photo of one of the tanks here,

it is clearly wearing T-49 tracks. For Army vehicles as has been stated, you can use just about anything, with the proviso of the dates for the T-48 track (very common in the ETO) and the fact that you rarely saw grousers until 1944.
