Hello,
I am a new member to the forums. Looking to build a german factory scene of welding tank bodies in weld positioners. I am a ex manufacturing engineer and the history of WW II manufacturing and modeling is driving me to move toward a diorama of this subject. I do have reference photos.
Does anyone know if there are model accessories of welding equipment used during WW II? Also is there machining equipment such as lathes, mills, drills, and misc. material and tools ? I imagine most of this request will have to be scratchbuilt.
Thanks,
Mike

Maybe not Mike...(and welcome !)
Verlinden has released several sets that may be useful for your project :
#2610
#2608
#2616
#1013
#2487 (but the welding bottles look US to me...)
#2618
Plus Models has some interesting stuff as well :
#344
#337
and so has CMK :
Talking about welding equipment, Scalelink has released a 1:35 German Welding set (GSA017) containing welder, torch, bottles, and trolley. But I haven't found any online picture for it....

Hi Mike
Tamiya sells some box which can be useful for you: In this one for exemple you can find also a Maybach HL230 engine

In my opinion you can use also this set:
Although the set is for us army , tools are just tolls in my opinion.
cheers

The second kit is a reissue of the Italeri field maintenance set. Tamiya just added a sprue of their own US figures. Italeri doesn't identify the parts as specific to any nation.
