Does any hummer kit come with the option of an open rear hatch or would I have to scratch build something? If anyone knows of one please let me know. And also, if anyone has some pictures of the rear hatch open (preferably from front to back for a tow version) I could really use them wether I have to scratch build or not. Thanks all.

Thanks for all the help guys. I actually just got the eduard photo etched kit and thats what has inspired me to try and have the back open with the racks. I have a few extra tow tubes and would like to finish and display them, plus with a green interior I am finding its going to be hard to see a lot of the details without getting some more light in. I am going to have the drivers door open and I may try and open the rear passenger door also. I wish I could just take the doors off but I haven't seen any photos of a tow hummer with them off so I don't feel comfortable with that. Does anyone know how good the academy back door is, or the verlinden update?
By the way Salt6, those pictures are awsome, thankyou so much!!!!

Don't forget to open the gunners hatch.
Or you could throw some chem lights in the back.

Guys were underneath replacing the half-shafts and drive shafts. I did not want to be climbing around inside while they were underneath (you may see some of their heads in the shots) or while the vehicle was on jack stands. I'll add more photos later when the vehicles are not being used to train the mechanics.

Like I said, I can scan the Verlinden instruction so you can take a look for yourself. Just let me know if you want that.
I would really love to see that. I did a couple quick searches and didn't find in for sale anywhere. I probably just have to do a more careful search. I did find the academy kit so if nothing else I could go that route, but the Verlinden thing your talking about sounds like a better choice.
Sabot, thanks a ton for helping with more pics. As usual your a huge help.

Drew,
I might just make your day. I bought about 3 or 4 of those M1025 Verlinden sets. I know I have bits and pieces left over from all the sets. I can find out what is exactly left and for a small fee or favor, I will let you have them.

That would be great. Just let me know what you need to cover costs and I will get it to you. Again I am mainly looking for stuff that will let me have the rear hatch open from front to back so whatever you can find for that would be a huge help. Thanks for the offer.
Greyhunter, I send you my e-mail address in a private message. Thankyou for the help also.

Drew,
Send me your address via e-mail. I will send you what I got at no charge!!!! YES, NO CHARGE. Just a favor for a fellow modeler. Its bits a pieces, but with the instruction sheet, which I'll send too, you can make up the rest. a majority of it is there.

GREY,
Its not a amtter of where you live. I guess you can say its first come first serve. Ive sent something overseas to WIM (owner or Mil-Mod). I thought it would be expensive, but it wasnt. If I had extra bits and pieces, I wouldnt mind sending you them. Im building up a fovors or you owe me one list.

I was hoping someone would catch that

Sabot, thanks for the great pics of the hummer. I felt bad asking a Major to get on the ground to take pictures of the under side, but you proved if you want something done right you do it yourself. Thanks again.

Comes from being raised right. I was the smallest member on my crew when I was an LT, I had no qualms about being the guy on his back crawling under the tank using the high-pressure hose to clean the mud from behind the road wheels. Did it as a company commander too.
