Mike,
Could you get some BRDM pictures for me if it's not too much trouble next time you're there? Particuarly the underside of one missing it's suspension? Best of luck and stay safe, I just got home after a year a little bit north of you (not BAF thank god).

Steve

Hi guys,

I just received my replacement turret. There is still a slight size difference with the original plastic turret, but it is minimal - much improved over the first turret I received from them. Strangely the welds for the BDD armour seem to have been redone. I have not checked the fit of these yet though - too busy writing reports for school...

Cheers,

Olaf

Olaf

I have not receive my new from them yet, but I know a few people that have ordered the kit and still getting the old shrunk turret. I'm guessing it will take a while for the new turret to makes it's way to the states.

Are te welds for the front hull package?

Strange if it is, since mine had no welds on it at all and I had tp go back and add them my self. If you get a cance to check the fit of the turret, please check the hatch rings for TC and gunner's hatch. Those were shrunk too and well play a big problem with the alignment of parts.

The welds I'm referring to are for the turret brow armour, not the hull. I'll see if I have a chance this weekend to do some more comparison work...

Chris,

Just had a chance to check both brow armour and turret hatches - fit improved for both.

Here is just a quick update on the build so far. I'm test fitting parts to see how the overall look will be. The figures are from Master Club's new Afghanistan set, while the driver is from the older Dragon Russian tank crew, I will post more updates tomorrow.

Brilliant work Chris. Those Masterclub figures look wonderful, and are just made for that tank!

Thanks Jon, I also have some new figures coming in from Rest. Their new figures from the Russian movie 9th Company.

I have been told over on another web site from a fellow russian modeller that one of the master club figures is wearing the wrong gear for astan and is wearing a vest that did not see service until the Chechen war.

Great work so far Chris. The tank looks really nice loaded up with the figures.

I suspect the incorrect figure is the one with his hand on the barrel of the AK sat on the turret in front of the loader. Kinda looks like hes wearing a more modern load bearing vest characteristic of the Russian special forces during the 2nd Chechen war.

Id love to see what the rest models figures are like as well. I always fancied having a go at them myself, the likeness of a couple of them to the film characters is very good.

Thanks Rob

Everyone tell it's the guy sitting in front of the TC hatch since his vest is the zip up kind. The rest seems to be just fine from some of the russina I have talked to.

A stunning build Christopher

Figures are well moulded indeed

In my stash I have the Tamiya (ex ICM) soviet afghan set

One of these days maybe I'll do an afghan diorama

I can't wait to see your work finished

I started the MIG production t-62 m1 update I'm doing on the trumpeter t-62 an I ordered it in may or June so I should have the correct kit but I'm not sure about how to fix the bottom armour that you said was wrong but is it wrong for a taliban t-62 used in Afghanistan because I'm putting it on a maz 537 g there is going to be no specific time frame but I wouldn't mind it being somewhat accurate an the bottom armour has me stumped because the two holes match up but there a plug or a whole that the armour covers up an not sure if I should move the plug or just leave it alone an just be happy that the other two holes line up to the plugs as you say if I'm saying it correct.

I would appreciate any line drawings or pictures so if I decide to super-detail I have the reference to do so from such experts as you guys on here an I also got the edwuard pe set for the trumpeter an if I go scrap build anything it'll be my first time an everyone says your the t-62 expert.

I also got the MIG production fuel line update but can I use any hexagon plastruct to delicate that same conectors from the fuel line that are used in the MIG production set. Any picture reference for this would be greatly appreciative an how to fix the errors would help I'll post some photos to help me with my project if its ok with the original poster because I would love to have my model be even half as good as that one. Because its hard for me to model because of my injury makes me shake a lot an I have good days an bad days to where I can put stuff together an I want to at least super-detail something before my injury has me unable to do this great hobby of are's.

Happy modeling

Just an update since i got mugged an robbed an pistol whipped and robbed everything in my place from TV's to models why would someone steal models that were being worked on its just blowing my mind i would have finished this kit by now. But there is a campaign on soviet armor on T-62. 55 an some others tanks. I joined an i think it would be great therapy if I could get this kit again an finish the kit that got robbed i was wondering if anyone is selling the mig production stuff because i can get a cheap trumpeter's T-62 but mig production stopped making it or out of stock or just going in a different direction in business from kits to just doing oils, washes, etc. They closed there USA store an only have limited stuff in the Europe web site. I just thought maybe someone would have something to trade or .sell from there stashes to help it's been hard getting money together since my injury. I have some nice stuff just message me if you would want to sell or trade. If you need something i might have something we could trade or i'll pay for it. If it's a good price.

I had metal tracks from fruil an pe from edwuard mig production Taliban update an fuel lines from mig so i was set. Then human nature is evil comes in an takes my dream of my art work away. I'm working on my art again an thought hopefully this campaign helps kick start me again in life I am finishing a Abrams I started awhile back an it's helping but that T-62 was going to be my first hopefully master piece.

Happy modeling
