OD was used through out WWII on USMC vehicles. They did not come out with USMC green untill the 50s.

The U.S.M.C. ordered all its Vehicles painted Forest green from the factory.
some vehicles recived a camouflage over coat in the field.Olive drab was
not used on marine vehicles other than those transferred from army service.
Forest green is a darker bronze colour than olive drab and did not fade as
badly .Stars and markings were almost always painted in yellow .
hope this helps

Aaron, can you suggest a color that is the closest match to WWII "Marine green"'? Preferably in an acrylic range, but an enamel will do as well.

Take a look at some of the episodes of "The Pacific"; they have a bunch of vehicles in the right color scheme. For me the closest color i found was Humbrol 88 matt. But thats just my opinion.
