I have a campaign proposal. Watching the news in the last two weeks from North Africa, it was striking to see the protesters standing up in front of tanks. There could be a campaign focused on peaceful and not-so peaceful interaction between armies and civilians (protesters): anything from the Warsaw uprising, to ’53 Germany, ’56 Hungary, ’67 Prague, Ireland, the Occupied Territories, Tiananmen square, and now Tunisia, and Egypt, among other notable events. (Like the 2006 protest in Hungary when someone fired up a displayed T-34…)
It could be individual vehicles (captured tanks, guns, other equipment), battle scenes, or scenes from a riot, or protest.

Hmm, sounds interesting. I will have to think on this one. What's the proposed timeframe you are looking at for this campaign?

Probably second half of the year, considering the number of campaigns running now.

I'd be interested, I have a couple of ideas I was already drawing up.

Hi Andras,

I would consider this one. I have a simple vignette in mind that would go along with this campaign's theme.

In the second half of the year I could partecipate.

Is a very interesting campaign theme in my opinion...

(i've already got an idea....)

If I do enlist, I will probably have to stick with a figure or something small like that. Let me see if I can come up with a few ideas.

Cool
I think movie-based events are permissible, too (not wanting to butt in to the movies campaign, though). But the AFV in The Children of Men were just way too cool.
If this goes ahead I'll make a captured SU-85 in '56, Budapest (I saw an incredible photo), and maybe the iconic standoff between man and machine in the Tiananmen square.

I am interested in this one, but couldn't possibly start until late in the year. A long running time would be a plus, as well.

Interesting idea. I would probably give it a shot; it will be something different.

I wrote it in the starting post That would perfectly fit into the theme.

There sure is a lot of new imagery, now that the Middle East is bristling with revolt in recent weeks, even stories of the Libyan military firing on unarmed crowds.
I don't know if such a diorama would be too sensitive of a subject. It would have to be handled well. There must be some feel-good stories in all this. Of course that's what I'd want on my display shelf.
Count me toward your 10 to submit this entry.
thanks,
Sean.
