I'm currently trying to finish all my unfinished builds (2011 Resolution...go figure) anyway I had the sdkfz 11 halftrack from AFV half build since January 2010 , I will do the DAK version.
I wanted to add some chipping and some filters.
Should I use some panzer grey for the chipping ?
Which filters should I apply for a Dak version ?
Thanks
John

Hello
Well, if you already painted your Sdkfz 11 in Sand color, this means that it will be not too much faded, because will be difficult to make a faded look directly over the Sand Color Base.
Yes, use a DARK GREY color to make the chipping. If the Sand Color is a little SATIN, paint the chips very MATT, and it will create a very deep sensation for your chips.
If you want to make a very Faded look, then, start painting the whole vehicle iin dark grey, and add later the Sand Color. Avoid to cover the whole surface with teh sand color, just cover some areas, in a very unregular way. It will help you to make a fading effect.
This one was painted in this way:
About filters.....of course it can vary according the Sand Color that you applied.
-If your Sand Color is to Greysh look, then apply some Ocrhe filters.
-if you Sand Color is a bit Yellowish look, then , apply medium grey filters, and light brown.
-But in general, don't apply too dark filters.
I hope it help you a little.

Thanks Miguel,
I painted it already in Tamyia Desert /Dark yellow, but I'm not happy with the results. I wanted the base colour to be more ochre than "yellowish".
The finish on that Dana is great, the base colour is similar to what I was planning but for this one I wanted less chipping.
The metal shinning on the top of the hood grill on the first pic and on the main gun, is it the photo lightning or some metalic finishing ?
Thanks again for your time and also for providing us with great pigments, filters and a peek at your work !!
Take care !
