Was the hull applique armor on Shermans a consistent thickness? I thought I read somewhere that it was an inch thick, which work out to 0.73 mm in 1/35 scale.

The hull and turret cheek plates were one inch thick, the two slabs in front of the drivers' positions were 1.5" thick.

Yes: Hull side armor 1 inch; hull front armor 1-1/2 inch; turret armor 1-1/2 inch if plate, 1-3/4 inch if casting. It appears that some M4A1s may have used cast hull side applique. I have no information as to a different thickness for them.

In 1/35 these correspond to .029, .043, and .050 inches or .73, 1.09, and 1.27 mm.
