Tell me something, when a large body falls upon the desert, does it create a cloud of dust around it? I'm building a Gundam dio (1/100 scale) and I'm confused if I will put the dust cloud around the fallen model or not. Please help me quick. This dio will be submitted this 6th!

hi, if a soldier or a ruined building falls on a desert ground there would be a big cloud of dust.
Good luck with the dio!!

If the area was windswept, the would be little or no dust compared to an area that had little or no wind.

Creating ephemeral effects like dust clouds and smoke is always very difficult to do successfuly in a 3 dimensional medium. A dust cloud, as suggested above, will dissipate very quickly and is somewhat transluscent for most of its existence. The effect itself will vary depending on the soil composition of the desert.
In any case, good luck with it and try to post a shot of it when you've completed it.

Wow! Thanks all! Sorry, but I didn't put the dust cloud because of the lack of time. Thanks anyway for your kind support!

Phantom_Major, the sand I am going to replicate is the one in Egypt/Sahara desert.

I'll post pics in a few minutes. Let me finish the website first
