I've done several kits from WWII and am begining to loose interest. As a result, I have decided to start building some modern armor. I will likely be AMing the snot out of this, so keep that in mind. The problem? I don't know what a good first kit would be. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I would offer up the Tamiya Leopard 2A5 or 2A6; they go together well, and lots of AM available.

The latest Dragon M1A1 AIM and M1A2 SEP are fantastic. Lots of knowledgeable folks on here to help you on your way too. And plenty of aftermarket. On mine... I used the Legends stowage set, and some Echelon decals.

Tamiya LeClerc, hands down. Beautifully simple, flawless fit, and metal wheels:) Have some red wine and cheese while building to keep in the mode:)

I have no intention on doing an Abrahms. Nothing against them, just don't feel the urge to build one.

I'll second the Dragon Abrams recommendations. By the way, there is no H in Abrams.

I'm looking at a M60a1 Blazer w/RKM mine roller by Mini Hobby. Does anyone know if this is a good company?

I would avoid this kit myself, my understanding is it's a knock-off of the Academy kit. (and a poor one at that)
I'll second the Tamiya Leo 2A5 or 6, it's a great kit despite it's age (it's been around since about 2000)

Tamiya T-55 is a good base for adding aftermarket too. I've always like the Tiran, Kladivo, or the Enigma. Some tracks, etc, you're G2G.

I think a Stryker from AFV-Club will be an nice start for Modern Armor. If you want, you can buy and add Interiour (Black Dog) and Slat Armor.

I've heard only good things about Tamiya's T-55. I have looked into a stryker as well. Thanks for all of the recomendations guys.
