I was looking at brushes and such at my local Curry's art supply store and noticed some paints. I'm wondering if these can be used in an airbrush, if thinned or otherwise, and if the pigments can be used the same as say a MIG product. Thanks.
I really only know Tamiya paints so I'm lost as to what else I can use. Curry's carries "artists" paints so I'm not sure if they're the same type or paint. There's tons of acrylics in tubes etc. Can I spray with these? They also carry pigments, used for mixing your own paints. Can I use these with thinner etc. just like a MIG product?
They have artists pastels and I've bought some of those to grind out and use for dust etc. This is a proper technique no? Thanks for all the help!

Hi Jaredt
In my opinion you can use the pigments, but probably paints won't work
Usually gereric acrylics paints (not model paints) don't grip on plastic surfaces.
Otherwise the pigments could work
Anyway if I were you i did some trial. Maybe i'm wrong.
My two cents
Cheers

Thanks! Yeah I assumed because the paints were "artists" paints, they'd be made for canvases mostly. I went ahead and bought a MIG pigments kit because I found a decent link to a Canadian store while I was looking around.
