I have a modern tank I'm trying to fill with realistic looking "stuff" in the turret basket (think a Loepard 2A6 ). Problem is, I'm having a difficult time from the online photos I've seen telling exactly what sort of stuff crews cram into such areas. Could some of you good folks give me some ideas of typical "stuff" stuffed into the basket area? I swear there is a folding lawn chair in one shot I've seen, which actually kind of makes sense...
Thanks!

Hi Mark,
at least on Bundeswehr Leopard 2 A6 the stowage baskets on the turret sides are for camo netting. All other equipment is stowed inside the turret boxes.

Yeah, I was thinking more like the Canadian Leopards or USMC Abrams. Pictures of vehicles in Afghanistan--pretty junky.

Mark
Shoot me a PM for photos, I commanded a Leopard in the sandbox, and have some photos that should help you out.

Has anyone used the Tamiya modern US infantry equipment set?
I couldn't find it in the Tamiya catalog, but it is for sale.
Accessories
Looks like exactly the sort of thing I was looking for...

That is the same set included in many of Tamiyas modern kits like that M113A2 and M1A2, plus the M2A2. It is probably one of the more accurate sets you'll find without digging too deep into AM, plus currently molle packs are being used of which I think so far I've only seen in Black Dogs LAV A2 update.

I have both of the sets from Tamiya and the newer of the two sets is usable up to about 2004/5, the older set starts to become less usable after about 97/8.

Good to know, thanks. What about the sets in particular is outdated? The pack styles are constantly changing, but (for example) is there a new folding cot, or do they not carry them anymore at all?
