I'm kinda new to this ,so bear with me.Am building dragons m4a1 76 mm w sherman.kit no.6083.Road wheels went together well, but when i got to the rear idler wheel the hole in the wheel is WAY to big for the spindle.I have looked and looked at the instructions and can't figure it out.Is the wheel 2 pieces?Have I missed something?thanks

Might it call for a poly cap insert?

Check and see if you mounted the idler swing arm wrong way round. If I recall my Dragon Sherman build correctly, they will fit bassakwards.

The idler wheel fits okay unless as said above, you mounted the arms backwards. Its easy enough to do. Personally, there are two things that I really hate about Dragon's M4 series suspensions, and I've built a few, and that is that the weak points are the multi-piece drive sprocket and the idler are both weak points right where a vinyl track puts the most stress. I wish that they would do it like they do on their 1/72nd scale M4s.

DML does not use polycaps.

In this kit the swing arm can only mount one way.It almost looks like the wheel should be 2 pieces, like the road wheels but there is no note or picture of it being an assembly.Just take the part and put it on,and that does not work.

Are you using Idler wheel V18? It is the solid one. If you are trying to use Idler wheel D21, the 6 spoke open one, no it won't work. You have to use V18.

Yes,I am using V18,the closed wheel. The swing arm has a little stud that sticks out of the end of it.But even if i cut that off,the hole in the wheel is still too big. There is so much play that the wheel just kind of wobbles on the end of the arm and does not slide over it at all.

Wrap masking tape around the idler peg till it is about the same size as the hole in the idler wheel. Push the idler wheel on. YAY. I fixed a Dragon kit.

O.K.Here we go.I think I may have found an answer to my idler wheel problem. There are about 8 billion extra parts in this kit.As i was looking through them i ran across a # D15 wheel that is the same size as theV18 wheel. The # D15 fits the swing arm super ,but has a hole all the way through it.Looking more deeply i also found a # D22 wheel cap.Cap has an indent for the stud that sticks out of the end of the swing arm and everything.Instant fix i think ,you guys see any problems with this?
