I was looking for some advice and help here please.
I have just finished building a Zvesda BTR-70 ( horrblie kit )
I've done a fair bit of detailing and scratch building to get it looking good, but I have NO refferences with regards colour / camoflage schemes for Afghanistan...
Can anyone help with web links or appropriate books ?

This is the only photo I have been able to find.
What is wrong with the kit that makes it horrible?

Those are Romanian BTRs not Russian. In Astan most were Green (with a ton of Dirt/dust) with many airborne units having 2 or 3 color camo schemes with sand/tan green with black or brown.

Register for an account at http://www.photobucket.com Upload your photos using the upload option. After uploading save them to album. Copy image code associated with each photo and paste it in thread's text/reply box. If they aren't already digital, good luck.

That'll give me something to work from....
Matt
it's such an old kit I guess, the fit n finish, etc.
We're just spoiled with the current offerings from the like of Dragon / Bronco etc...
I have images, but can't seem to get them to load

HI Andy,
Personally, the kit is not that horrible.... with some little work, it can be as good as any other kit. I agree that this is not the best kit, but not even the worst kit...
here's my build log if you interested .. CLICK ME
just watch for those toyish like hinges and take extra care when mating the hull.
good luck in your projects....
