Here is my latest project, The idea sort of evolved from the driver of the schwimmwagen while building it. I figured what better to have such a casual figure looking at but a pretty girl... from there it moved into more of a professional girl. In searching for a figrue to use for the girl I came across the story that is summed up on the back of the dio about the booming trade in france during the war.
THe schwimmwagen is an old tamiya kit built straight from the box, The Stug is the DML Ausf A "Micheal Whittman" kit, once again straight from the box. The house of ill repute is cork bricks, wood and plastic on a cardboard box. The girl is a highly modified figure that I have had laying around for 20 or so years. And her visitor is a mix of old kit parts from the spares drawer.
Enough of my rambling here are the pictures I hope you all like them and as always I look foward to sugestions and the like. Thanks

Hi there!
I really like your diorama. Top quality, and it really tells a story.
The house and the "ill reputation" lady are very well buit and painted!
Congrats on an excellent job, and thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Pablo

I like it. Especially like the scratch'd house of ill repute. Now I know how to make scale bricks.

Nice idea, but if it were me , I would loose the Stug as there is too much stuffed in such a small space. If you added a second schwimmwagen or whatever you call that thing, or maybe a motorcycle it would be better. Just my two cents worth..........looks nice though..............Al

I agree about removing the Stug. It seems to take up too much room, not leaving enough white space, and detracts from the focus. Other than that, I really like it. I think that the pictures and commentary on the side are great, and I've never seen that done before.
Well executed!

Thanks for the comments, the pictures and the story were the only way I could figure out what to do with the large areas of black on the back. I can see your point about the STUG but I have always liked busy dioramas. I could have probably done with a smaller something but that kit is what I had in the stash that was period correct.

Looks awesome. I would have to agree with the stug; I love buy dios as well, but it is just too big IMHO. Instantly, however, I thought this would look hilarious in its place: http://www.mbltd.info/3510.htm Kind of a funny twist in that one officer is chewing out a couple enlistees for being there; meanwhile his buddy is rolling in the front door. Just my two cents. But even without any change, this thing is great all around!

Hi,
I agree with the guys! I don’t think an officer would visit such a place with a tank as an escort, a motorcycle or another staff car would be more appropriate.
Nice dio, I like the booty in the schwimmwagen; I was planning a diorama depicting a similar aspect. It’s a nice idea and (as mentioned) the pictures and the text add interest to the scene.
Regards,

The tank was not intended to be an escort for the officer, just passing by and enjoying the view. As for the officer visiting... Hermann Goering was know to frequent these estiblishments so I do not think it is much of a stretch for any officer to stop by.
Mike C.. that would have been a good idea as well, did not see that kit (untill you showed me the link) I had though of having the schwimmwagen crashed into the tank due to distracted driving but the car was already finished and I did not want to tear it apart and change the figures.
