the 101st airborne went into the ardennes forest withou proper winter clothing so could i go with the normal tan jacket and brown pants as the winter clothingbecuz i had an idea for a dio

Yes without proper gear our troops walked in with what was on there backs.

yes, only later winter clothing came

The 101st in the Ardennes fought without proper winter gear and only later when the logistic train began to work did they get what they needed, therefore almost any variation would be correct. Take a look at Band of Brothers and you will get a million ideas...Jim

hi , they had been reequiped with the m 43 uniform jacket and trousers at that period , so they had some of the winter stuff but not all , most had scarves , gloves , or mittens , some had the M 43 hood to go with the jacket , the replacement rushed in were better equiped , remember the full winter kit was vest, long johns, shirt , pullover long sleeved, trousers, long socks , jacket , jacket liner fur pile , hood , inner gloves , outer gloves or mittens , scarf, white over suit and waterproof boots , extra to all this was the parker in 3 versions and of course the poncho , some are seen wearing the machinaw in place of the jacket cheers ian
