I have searched the web for pictures of soviet infantry carrying PKMs ammo,
did they carry them in belt fed drums, or did they carry the ammo belt and filled the drum? did they have special pouches for that?
Any info or picture of Soveit or Eastern block infantry would be appreciated
thanks

This might help some, here is a picture of a PKM gunner with a pouch ment for the ammo drum.

The setup might be the same as in the west with the gunner carrying just enough for his gun while an asistant gunner carries the rest and possible spare barrel. You can see the other guy carrying the same ammo pouch as the gunner

Let me correct myself, the second guy is not carrying the same ammo pouch as the gunner, just a standard infantry pouch for the AK. Just had to look closer at it some more.

There are two types of an ammo box for a PKM belt: one is for 100 shots

and another one is for 250 shots

And here you can see pictures of a pouch from all sides:

thanks guys
I was looking for old cold war pouches
I found his picture and I guess this would be a bit standard and adapt it to Syrian soldiers, I have seen them in Lebanon wrapping belts around them but who has belts in 1/35 scale :-)
