Here are some pics of the T-55m cut away that resides in the Base Borden Military Museum in Ontario Canada. The plaque states that it is from Czechoslovakia and it has 89 stamped on the fornt glacis armour, maybe a date?
cheers

Hi,
this tank is an T-55AM2B. And it is from the GDR Army. That's correct.

Hey Andreas,
Information like where was it built, for who.
Did they use a brand new tank, or one that was broken beyond repair.
cheers

Hi Rick,
this 'cut off tank', was build for the GDR Army schools. The tank is from Czechoslovakia. The number MHY 01 TKD say us, that this tank is made in Nov. 1964. And i think the first version, a T-55A. The T-55AM2B is the upgrade version, last in the GDR NVA. The tank was upgraded in the RWN - 'Reparatur Werk Neubrandenburg' in 1989?
I hope you understand my bad english,
Andreas.

That's alot of good info, thanks!
So do you think that this tank was upgraded to T-55AM2B before it was cut up, or after?
cheers
