Hello. Can anyone tell me what color the plastic water cans are that are carrried on an Abrams. I'm building one in a NATO scheme. Thanks, Wingman out.

The modern plastic water cans come in sand, black, and dark green (the least common).

Paint them a pinkish sand color, which is the most common color out there. The black ones are better for the 80's and early 90's. I have not seen too many green ones out there but will defer to others with better knowledge.

Believe it or not, the color plastic used by Tamiya on their modern US armor released in the 1980s (original Bradley, M1, M151A2, LVTP7A1, etc.) is a near perfect match for the pink sand color of the actual water cans. Grab a sprue and try to match it at the hobby shop. I used the old Testors flesh color that came in the tiny bottles.
