Hi! Just bought an Academy 1/35 M966 TOW. It is the first kit I've encounter with 3 figs. Do you happen to know if this has a desert scheme? I tried finding out in the net but can't see good pics. Please post the pics/links down.

Thanks!

The desert scheme would be desert sand overall. Or you can do the standard NATO 3-color of black, green and brown. Or you can combine the two and do the sand overall with the paint peeling and the NATO scheme underneath. I've got photos of a pair of NATO green ones in my motor pool.

The vehicle is just painted overall sand, everything but the actual TOW launcher and mount. These would be left in forest green. If it is a Desert Storm vehicle, the interior and under the body would be green. A later vehicle would have the interior done in desert sand as well.

The wheels (not to be confused with the rubber tires) could be either sand colored or black.

I have a few photos of the same model you're building on my website in the NATO 3 color on my website. I also have some photos of the desert camouflage uniform.

If you choice to paint the M966 in the NATO 3 Color, DO NOT USE the instruction guide. It's all wrong. I do have copy of the actual pattern as shown in the manual.

I'm still thinking of the boots of the desert soldiers. I painted it flat black? Is it ok? I've seen many patterns but don't know about their boots.

Usually, they're colored like the sand.
