I did once too the Tamiya BMW R75 with sidecar. Added the PE set from Eduard to it and I think together makes a nicely detailed model. Had a fun build.

Hi Thomas

I recently built Tamiya's DKW NZ350 it is the motorcycle that comes in the 1/35 scale German motorcycle orderly set and also tamiya's German Field MIlitary Police Normandy 1944 (which is a set that contains a base and some scenery.

here is a pic... It went together well and quickly with no problems. though compared to some newer items it may be a little outdated... The figure leaves a bit to be desired as he sits on the seat and basicly has a seat shaped hole in his backside..

here is a close up but the lighting didn't come out that well on this pic..

pro's.. easy to find.. easy build, low priced..

con's an older item and may be a little outdated, Rider figure not that great being an older Tamiya figure.

laters..

Voyager have an excellent little etch set for the Tamiya 350s, which is quite cheap. Check on Lucky Model ... they have free airmail postage on Voyager items. I have two of each, but havent gotten around to building them yet! The etched spokes and other small details will give these old bikes a real lift

Currently building the Tamiya DKW, with the Aber etch set, as part of my epic King Tiger with Fallschirmjager project. I'll post some pictures when I get a minute.

I am currntly working on a Lion Roar BMW R75, nice kit, PE spokes and other parts, and comes two per box. They also make the R75 sidecar version and the Zundap bikes as well.

thank you for all the info and encouragement, much appreciated, now got to decide which kit to build next. current build 1/12 moto guzzi in a shed. making shed out of real wood, its taking longer than chucking the bike together.

While I've got a bunch of kits from various manufacturers, I've only completed 2 military motorcycles. They are a BMW R75 & a Zundapp KS750, both from Italari. Except for the wheel spokes being too thick, I think they look pretty good. The kits themselves assemble quite easily. You can see pics of my built models at:
