Before I purchased my latest kit, DML's 6121 Sherman Vc Firefly, I had the notion that painting would be a breeze since the box art portrayed an olive drab colour. Was surprised to find out from the instruction sheet that the British units of the Northamptonshire Yeomanry had an exterior colour mixture of IJN Grey & RLM Grey 02. Would anybody know if this is accurate? I'm not very good with mixing paints and I always rely on purchased paints, mostly from Gunze Sangyo. I'd hate to mess-up the painting of this awfully good kit. Any help will b appreciated. Thanks!
Dennis :-)

Sure this should be UK version of olive drab, try Tamiya Khaki Drab.

out of interest just after ww2 finished I think it was a gaurds armoured tank regt which painted all their shermans grey from captured paint stocks from the german navy stores at kiel I'm sure the unit was based around the fallingbostel area
