Hi folks,

With all these early Artillery pieces starting to come along, I understand that the first of several BEF Troops may shortly be due to follow.

The first of these I believe may be BEF troops to compliment the Bren/Scout Carrier along with an interesting Allied surprise.

The eary war years have been, at least for Allied Troops, not that well represented, so like last year this promises to be a very interesting one for Commonwealth modellers.

With Resicast's Bren Carrier and Scout carrier already released, the 4.5 inch Howitzer coming onto the market ithis month and an early 18/25 pdr things are looking up for those interested in modellig Allied subjects in this time frame.

Cheers

Al

Well one wonders! The number of tiomes I seen wish lists for early British Troops is pretty big.

Then enters the 'British Syndrome' - Silence

I'm interested in anything BEF, but I wait to see what the result is.

Hi Ken,

I'm quite excited by this development. The early war period is an interesting one, so anything that adds to modelling opportunities in that time frame will be welcome.

I'd love to see more BEF stuff, and Resicast are leading the way (if you can be called a leader in a field of one! lol)

Its such an intensely interesting period of the war. The british army was an entirely different animal then, miles away from the one that took part in the Normady landings and very different even from the desert army and those that invaded Italy

not just equipment either, but in tactics, doctrine and just about anything else you care to name. Its always mystified me why it is so comprehensively ignored as a modelling subject

Hi Cris,

Yes, there is a interesting mix of the old and just the glimmering of the new during this period. Bronco's A13 and the Tamiya Matilda and Tilly can fittied nicely into this period and I always found early armour 'quaint' as the thinking was still evolving. I tend to like early German Armour for the same reasons.

We need a few more British plastic vehicles though.

I did a few BEF Infantry when I built the Tamiya Citeron but these need incorporated into something else with a few Allies and additional vehicles which are slowly coming along.

Just saw the WIP figures over on ML. I like them a lot- I'll probably use them in a western Desert Setting though

Hi Pat,

The Beligum Soldier is an interesting addition. With the Greatcoats on that's perfectly do-able.

I like the look of the chap standing up.
