I just received a cyber hobby Pz. Beob. Wg. IV J and I am really stoked to get started. I need to stockpile some aftermarket and some research materials first, though. Any recommendations? I've already decided to do some different mesh side skirts- which aftermarket set is best? Or, should I just snag a piece of brass screen and go crazy? Did these particular Pz. IV J variants have zimmerit? Any idea whether or not it would have been likely that Division- sized units had them, or were they more of a Corps- level asset? Did KG Peiper have one in the Ardennes? Like I said, any help would be really cool. Thanks!

Hi Lucas
From the pictures I've seen, they had no zimmerit, because they seem to be mid or late production ausf. J's. There were beobacht Pz. IV's in the Ardennes, but I'm not sure if they were attached to KG Peiper. Usually these vehicles were in armored artillery units, so I think it would be plauseble. There's some nice pictures of some knocked out beobachts in the "Panzer wrecks II" from Vienna. As far as I remember, they were from an SS armored Div.
