Hi,
Could anyone comment about this kit? It's labeled 1/32 but one internet source claims it to be closer to 1/35 scale. Has anybody built one?
Your comments would be greatly appreciated.
TIA,
P.N.

It is a basic kit but builds up O.K. The hardest part is removing the seam line around the rope bumper that is on both sides and stern all the way around. Just use a file and you'll be fine with it. As far as scale, couldn't tell you accure tly, but 1/35th scale figures fit fine. You will have to replace the .30 cal. guns as they are square thingies that resemble, I'm not sure what they resemble.I did mine up as a French river supply boat in Veit Nam. There is another, I think Italieri did it but am not sure as I don't have it. But what you pay for it, it's O.K. and looks pretty much as the ones in squadrons landing craft book.

The Lindberg hull scales approximately 10' 9+" beam, 34'6" long in 1/35 scale. Per several internet sites - prototype dimensions 10'10" beam, 35' length

I've had both & each has their points.
The Italeri, is a lot newer, more detailed, more expensive, & is a good looking, fun to build kit.
The Lindy is older than me ( !) usually cheap, is motorised & is a fun build.
Both look like a LCVP
I did compare them side by side & they are within mm of published dimensions, and each other.
According to the Higgins boat museum site, (google it) they were built by many different companies so there were variations, esp. with the rope used as a rubbing strake, some did, some didn't.
Some modellers' have even replaced the plastic rope with real rope!
