A cry of anguish and a plea for help. I am currently attempting to make a 251/1 using PE update sets from Aber and Voyager. The problem is that the acess panels for the floor are different in both sets. The Aber floor set shows a simple hatch with a small hole in it whilst the Voyager floor set has a lifting handle in it. Which set is correct and why can't PE manufacturers sing from the same song sheet.

One thing that I discovered is that the transmision case in the Dragon model is there for a reason! If you look at the photos in the Wings and Wheels walkround book on the 252/1 D you will find that there is a hole in the top of the transmission cover that is shown on both the Voyager and Aber floor sets. There is a small part that is glued to the top of the transmision cover in the kit instructions. Wrong, this piece fits through the hole and is fixed to the transmission case. Again the photos in the Wings and wheels publication shows this in detail.

Hi
Thanks for that. It appears that the hatch for the fuel tank had a handle whilst the other hatches did not. I noticed that the sketch showed a small hole whilst the illustration from the manual showes a handle. All very confusing.

Well, is just my opinion, but sometime tanks have different details, although they are the same model

May be BOTH the possibilities are correct, perhaps it depends just on the exemplar

Anyway, just my two cents

cheers

Good point and one that I should have thought of. Will go off instinct and use handle for fuel and holes for others. This feels right as the fuel access hatch would have to be more accesable.

Many thanks to the both of you.
