I'm planning on venturing into the realm of paper panzers by building my own interpretation of the Pz.Kpfw.IV Einheitsfahrgestell, ( my own interpretation mainly as I can't find a heck of a lot of info on it ).

At this point I'm reasonably settled on a plan of attack for the hull and running gear and am trying to decide if I build a simplified Pz.Kpfw.IV turret or use a Panther Schmalturm ( you can see where I'm at with the planning process HERE )

But before I go cutting into kits I thought I'd throw it out there a bit for any other input, any info I may have missed etc from anyone who feels I'm doing it wrong or I've missed something.

Additions to what is mentioned in the link above is the intention of using Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.J exhausts and a Panther Kugelblende.

So is that a great big "nothing to add" from everyone ?

Rightyho then, as soon as Hobbyeasy delivers it's time to start cutting.

Well the fun thing about What ifs is that you can do pretty much as you please ..I think either turret will be fine for the project ...I do have a feeling that the panther turret would be too much of a strain on the hull though...(only my opinion ) Kinda hard to give advise on something that never existed..

Well apparently it did exist, three prototypes reportedly made it as far as being used in the East for evaluation but no photos have ever been found. Those are supposed to have used a Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.J turret, I'm just going one step further into a supposed production version.

Sounds like Nazi propaganda to me. Or it could be that they did not do well during their performance trials. A friend of a friend told me that it is your liberty to build them as close to Einheitsfahrgestell as you invision without concern of rebuke. Just have fun with it.
