Whoa, that's a pretty big change! Looks darn good!
From the title of the topic, I'd thought this would be about how we build models instead of standing on a wet, rainy sidewalk while waiting to go see Episode II.
Wait a minute......
I'll... uh... I will be back in a couple of ...er hours.
::::running to car:::: almost backs through garage door::: 'stupid garage door opener'::::
::::remembers that first showing isn't until 3:30::: "awww MAN!"

Are you saying that you painted that wagon without an airbrush? Wow, knowing that makes it even more impressive! Great job!
What did you use for the canvas on top?
And how did you simulate the dull metal on the wagon's wheels?

Yoda,
The canvas is made from lead foil and toilet paper
Painted it with a acryl paint ( earth color ) and gave it a wash with matt black
The steel look on the weels is achieved with the use op Humbroll metal cote " polished steel "
Just add the paint on your model and then after 30 minutes or so polish it gently with a soft cloth.
What remains is a nice " glossy " bare metal wheel base...
The dull metal can be accieved bij using Humbroll 53.

Eric,
Amazing work. The wood effect is really impressive, but the horses are also as cool.
What scene is the diorama depicting again? You mentioned a bridge right?

Jim,
The diorama i'm working on is gonna containing a wooden engineers bridge.
And four wagons with horses a Mercedes 3000 L cargo truck scratched to an engineers model , two motor cicles ( zündapp & BMW ) and not as previous mentioned a mark 4 tank but a mark 3 tank , a farmer and wife with a donkey and ofcourse a lot of foot soldiers.
The story that is in this diorama is gonna be " The long way home "
and that is what i'm working on....
besides my work at the Poine du Hoc diorama...
Eric
( hope that my wife won't get lonesome this summer )

I found this site with some photos of the bunkers at Pointe du Hoc, perhaps they are of some interest for you.
