looking at doing diorama for operation iraqi freedom can you help . i will be using 1/35 tamiya abrams humvee with tow carrier and us modern infantry set thanks in advance

You have not said what it is eaxactly you need help with? If it is just a general request for people to chime in as and when and/or answer questions as you ask them, I suggest you make your diorama build a blog once you get started.

I am doing something similar, and am seeking input on how to sculpt the base. I plan to use Mold-a-Scene plaster from Woodland scenics for the base surface, and then I plan to use DAP putty on top to sculpt sand ripples spilling onto the road. I'll sand those ripples down to smooth them out, and add some ground "kitty litter" material for texture. Finally painting with Tamiya Desert Yellow and an oil wash for detail. I am not sure how to best do the oil wash.

Which Tamiya M1 are you using? I recently built the M1A2 OIF. I would suggest one of the Legend stowage sets, as the Tamiya one is a little repetitive.
