Hi all!

This is the one from two projects I’m running.

I’m going to replicate the below picture:

I understand that the theme of this diorama might not suite everybody’s taste, but Polar Bear Hunting from u-boat crews was a reality during the WWII.

I’ going to use the Revell 1/72 U-Boat kit –which will be chopped-, with some upgrades from CMK, metal figures and the magazine for some reference pics.

The Polar Bear will be replicated, by transforming this Airfix bear from an old 80’s kit.

Here is the chopped part of the uboat, with primer and the first steps of preshading.

Then I started to chop the bear and give her a dead stance:

Then after long hours in surgery the figures took their final stances. Different parts from different figures had the above result:

And here the first steps of painting and washes:

And some mockups from the whole:

Absolutely amazing subject - I learn't something today ! Your modeling skills are doing the Submariners a great justice by recording their little known adventures.
Cannot wait for the next episode.

Great little diorama! I have considered that scene for a diorama since I first saw the pictures in U-boot in Focus. I did not have the skills to pull it of as great as you did.

Thanks for sharing
