Hi guys,

I asked that question somewhere again, but couldn't have certain answers.
The question is :
Since the "Stug III ausf.G" (Tamiya's), has been started to be produced at Dec.1942,
It can be also painted in "Panzer Grey" !? Am i wrong ?

Thanx for your helps

As I understand it, the order was changed to dunkelgelb in Feb 43, SO, I would say grey would be the color for the very first stug III G's only. If you want yours grey, go for it !

I think you are OK - provided you do one of the very first ones....

They started getting added to anti-tank formations in early '43 - however I havn't seen any pictures of grey ones. That doesn't mean they never existed though

Make it what ever color pleases you the most. I happen to think a grey StuG G would look pretty cool.

Go for it , I agree with the lot.

While there were certainly standards and orders, the reality is that through out the war, particularly for the German, it was “make do” with what you had at hand. Factories used the paint they were ordered to use. Nevertheless, left over panzer gray was slapped on a variety of panzers. At the end of the war old stock of what ever color available was utilized.

M113 : just be carefull about the G model you are modeling !
There were many variations along the production, and some could certainly identify your model as early or late prod !
For exemple, if it's got the "saukopf" (molded gun mantlet) instead of the flat bolted mantlet, then it's rather late prod... and so on...

Salut Penpen,

C'est celui de Tamiya, boite no : 35197 et c'est écrit "frühe" en dessus.
J'espere que cela veut dire "early" :-)

Thanx again for your warning
