For some reason i thought it would be fun to create a satirical diorama. The thought was to have a tank, sitting on a road in front of a sign. The sign would say, "Come on through. NO mines here!" On the road there would be obvious places where land mines would be, with different colored dirt, and slightly raised.
I am also thinking of having a sign that says mine field in a different language on the other side of the road, opposite facing the other sign. Not sure how i would pull that off because first i am not sure if it would be understandable to have it in a different language, maybe if i used some graphics with it. I am still tossing things around at this point
I am not sure if that would be enough to call it satire, but none the less i thought it would be fun. i am not sure what the tank/vehicle would be.
Let me know what you think

I don't know... Sounds like a kind of comic book humour. Will be a bit difficult to create convincing diorama.
Maybe something slightly more plausible, like:
- a tank with a crew outside waiting for a flock of ducks to pass the road
- a tank hiding behind a lone tree during exercise ( I read somewhere about huge military range in Canada that had only a few trees there )
- recreation of a famous Merkava pic with a tank standing on a barrel

I like the idea. I personally did one silly dio just for laughs. It is posted as Ammo Re-supply. Will put on my thinking cap and come up with something new...........Al

Hey Mike, instead of an exclimation mark at the end, maybe a question mark: like they are not sure. Have the T.C. scratching his head wondering if it is or isn't.

Hello Mike, I like your idea of a humorous diorama. How about a German (for example) on his knees so engrossed with planting a mine, that he doesn't realize that there are a couple of GI's standing behind, him looking on? I don't think an armoured vehicle could sneak up on someone, maybe a Jeep, or Half-track? Or, for a more modern setting, perhaps an Afghani planting an IED with a HUMVEE sitting behind him? Al

If you ever watched the old TV show Dave Allen at Large, you won't hurt for possible ideas.
For real life incidents, two possibilities: a Japanese Type 94 tankette being carried on the back of a Sherman tank (yes, there is a photograph of this), or something inspired by Operation Greif, where Otto Skorzeny managed to create confusion among American forces during the Battle of the Bulge by sending in a few infiltrators. Though they did little physical damage, they managed to create an infiltrator panic among the Allies.

DAMN ILMAO at both of those ! - You`ve got to love the second one with the farmer "sticking it to the man" .I personally can identify with it as i`m a white van man (that`s a multi-drop parcel delivery driver to my friends across the pond) and we DO own the road !!

I have a sign written in both Dari and English that says "Beware the mines on the side of the road." if you need it.
