even though this isnt for a tank, i figured this would be a great place to start.
im recreating my great uncles p-51d that he flew in ww2. there are some decal manufacturers that make decals for these, but the side fusalge markings do not exactly match his. the side markings im finding would be SXB, SXM, SXI etc. the one i need is SXK. problem is, these are black letters with yellow outline to match the black and yellow checkered nose of this group. so, i cant just pull random sets with the ones i need.
does anyone know of a manufacturer that will do custom orders? or even other options to get letters with yellow outlines.
here is a photo of the letters

Why not make your own using a photshop style program and mess about with lettering samples copied from internet sources. Most things like photshop/pixelmator etc have a scale you can use to ensure you get the correct size.
There's also inkjet and laser decal paper available which you can get in white or clear depending on backgrounds and lettering colours.

THey are the waterslid type. I've used inkjet and laser without any problems although the paper is usually specific to one or the other

I use Johnsons Klear for that. i put some on the model before the transfer then on top. Assuming your going to be giving it a uniform matt/satin varnish later of course.
